In Memory of Benjamin Joseph Lambert IV
Benjamin Joseph Lambert IV was diagnosed with prostate cancer at the age of 46. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and an active member of his community — a well-respected professional and a friend to all.
For six years, Ben fought with extraordinary courage and grace. He passed away at the age of 52, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and community spirit that continues to inspire everyone who knew him.
In November 2024, the Lambert Prostate Cancer Foundation was officially approved as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization — a living tribute to Ben's life and his family's commitment to ensuring other men and families receive the support and resources they deserve.
Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in American men. Early detection saves lives. Ben's story is our reminder that behind every diagnosis is a person, a family, and a community that needs hope.

Meet Gevick
Gevick Safarians, MD-PhD Student
The Lambert Prostate Cancer Foundation is proud to partner with Gevick Safarians, an MD–PhD student at Virginia Commonwealth University and recipient of an NIH-funded T32 fellowship through VCU’s Wright Center. The Translational Biomedical Sciences program prepares emerging researchers to connect laboratory discoveries with patient care, emphasizing mentorship, collaboration, and community engagement. In Dr. Priscilla Hwang’s laboratory, Gevick develops miniature, three-dimensional “tissue-on-a-chip” models to study how prostate cancer cells respond to fluid forces and tissue environments as they spread through the body—research that could help inform future treatments for advanced disease. His partnership with the Foundation brings this work closer to the community, helping connect scientific research with the questions and priorities of those affected by prostate cancer.
